Yes, it is auto-hide. But I want it neither visible full time or hidden and popping up. I want it gone. I have no use for it.

Command-~ does the same on the Mac. And yet... Aperture was the model for this kind of thing. With the exact same arrangement of Browser and Viewer windows on two monitors, I would star-rate images...

Agreed! I'm not familiar enough with the exact terms for my import process. I simply call up C1's import dialog,* which by default remembers to "Copy into Catalog," into Collection "Recent Imports...

Oh, the second. After importing, the images that fill the Browser window when I select the most recent date in the list of Recent Import.
