Tethered, C1 6 will render images faster than C1 7. Cables don't seem to make a difference for me.

IIQ files seem to render a lot faster in C1 and those .fff files, you might as well just go to Phocus. Does PM have a list of compatible files in their notes?

Solved my problem by using a Belkin thunderbolt hub and plugging the D800 into it. No disconnects at all.C1 7.2 mavericks on 2013 retina mbp.
