No, the HDMI Port is for connecting to an external display. USB (mini B) Port can only be used for tethering.

I can confirm its very stable with 10.11.1 / 8.3.4, tethering to 1DX and 5D MK II. Now awaiting for SoftRAID to fully support 10.11 before moving over on shoot computers
