Make sure you compare both at 100% actual pixel size. I have found the screen display resampling to be different between C1 and Photoshop and viewing both at 100% brings them closer.

The Helicon Remote software works just fine on Mountain Lion and even with the 5D Mkiii. I'm using it with Capture One's Hot Folder enabled. http://www.heliconsoft.com/heliconremote.html
