I ran into the same prblem and what I do is that I convert the color profile of the Tif-file to sRGB. I made a script for this and it works like a charm. Glad that C1 is working on it though.

Did you check the automatic adjustment settings?You'll find them under Adjustments and amongst others you can check or uncheck levels, curves and the white balance.
