I have the same question on the sharpening settings. How do I change the default have it remain the default?

I found the problem. If C1 is maximized on the monitor the little window that opens with the click is to the right of the main screen, which means it cannot be seen. If the C1 screen is made smal...

Well... maybe it helps. I made the settings as I like them and clicked the little down arrow. Then I opened a folder of images. But the settings were not my default they were the program default...

Duh..... I feel kind of stupid having asked this..... It's just the "reset counter" tab on the Naming bar. I don't know why I never saw that before.

Paul - one more question. In the old 3x version I used to keep sharpening at about the default - "standard - Amt 20 - threshold 3" What might be the equivalent of that in 4.8.1?

Thanks. I see that Control/right arrow, left arrow is set up to do exactly what I want.

It was a file permission issue related to Windows 7. I've got it figured out now but it seems to me that Microsoft could have made the while 'permissions' thing a lot less complicated.

I see the little downward facing triangle but when I click it nothing at all happens.
