Probably what you try is the regular version, not the PRO version. Color is a PRO only function.

are you using ACDSEE Pro 5?I recently upgraded to ACDSEE Pro 5, and the image in ACDSEE appears a bit more contrasty, just like yours. I used to use ACDSEE Pro 4, and had no such problem.
