Frequency Separation for skin toning and detailing?

Capture One doesn't have that capability. I do really well with the heal tool by using a brush setting for low flow (5-10) and hardness 0 (zero). It isn't exactly like frequency separation but it does very well. I also use the Skin tab of the color editor for managing skin color.

Walter, I know what you mean, tried all those options but you always lose texture in the skin, no matter what the setting. I always have to export a 16 bit TIFF into Affinity Photo and do the skin detailing there, which is a pain.

Wish Capture One had this, and layers. I always have to export elsewhere for layers with different images etc.

Although I love Capture One, it really is so limiting in these two areas and if the folks in charge could just implement Frequency Separation and Layers like Photoshop so many people would jump ship from Adobe and Affinity Photo to be able to do it all in C1. It would be easy to add these two features, sure, a lot of code writing but they would get so many new customers because of it as the lack of these two features really hold C1 back – big time!!!

I completely understand. I have suggested that they create a "frequency separation" layer type that might has two brushes - one for color, one for texture. I am able to retain some texture depending on the source used in healing. Sometimes the need is to reduce prevalent skin pores so healing works well. You also can use negative dehaze with a skin tone selected to help with lightening color of darker eye circles, etc.

These are all questionable workarounds, at best, Walter.

Funny, I can't find anywhere on the C1 site to submit a 'feature request'. I can find pages with results of other people's requests and you can vote, but can't find anywhere to submit myself.

Have you read this post from C1?

How to make a feature request and give us your feedback in general - Capture One

If has and you are following this guidance then perhaps there is a glitch in the recently introduced process.
