You will get a great practice session with C1 directly on location.
It is on premises based training, and trainer will guide you thru all requirements.
However this certification is valuable if you are photo technical working closely with digital backs, or Capture One product.

    Hi Andrew,

I did the POCP and then POCT. The tests aren't especially difficult - they're done online through an online proctor, and you'll know the answers if you've been paying attention. POCP was 2 days, POCT was 1. The courses are aimed primarily at digital operators, and include an overview of Capture One and the Phase One cameras and backs, using them together, and troubleshooting around common issues. I was expecting the course to be more about C1, but I would say it's 60% Capture 1, 40% Phase One cameras. If you know capture one well, i.e. have seen many webinars, played with all the options, and been using it for a while, you probably won't pick up much new. If you're confused by how C1 works, you'll have a better idea by the end. The POCT was an extra day, and about much more esoteric features. There wasn't much Capture 1 on the POCT as I recall - maybe a bit on using tokens as they were a new feature when I did it.

I am interested in doing POCP.
The FAQ page said it was a written test, is it now done online?

I'm wondering on what I need to know for the prerequisite test.
I've only looked at the CO9 webinar and been using it regularly so it's not foreign to me now but I never used medium format cameras before. There is a Capture Integration shop here in Atlanta but not sure if a "camera test drive" will be enough to familiarize for POCP.

The course price is around $500, I presume?

    Hi

The prerequisite is online course you need to take before the actual course start.
This is to ensure that all participants have a certain amount of base level knowledge in order to not disrupt the course for other due to lack of base knowledge about Phase One products.
It is a simple online class where you do a small online test after each online course (Five of them) to ensure you have retained the knowledge just given to you.
Takes in all about 30min to an hour to complete.

Ok, I see. So you have a small course for the prerequisite test as well. Can I complete this before registering & paying for a POCP class?

What about knowledge and handling of medium format cameras before the actual course?

    Hi

It is all a part of the course so no you can not.
The prerequisite course ensure that you have the sufficient knowledge to participate in the physical course.
