Is the 60 day tryout version function limited? [Resolved]
I've downloaded 7 Pro to see if it is worth upgrading from 6 Pro and Media Pro both of which I have bought not too long ago.
When I create a new catalog and try to import images into it I'm having a problem. From the tutorial videos I can see that the import window should have several sections on the left hand side.
Import from
Import to
Backup to
Naming
Metadata
Adjustments
Etc
My import window is missing the first three sections listed above so I cannot select images for import, decide where they should go, or backup. Naturally this creates a dead end in my workflow. Is this a deliberate limitation of the tryout version? Oddly I am able to import a catalog previously created with Media Pro.
By the way, is 7 Pro's new DAM capabilities supposed to make Media Pro redundant or is it supposed to still play some role in the average workflow?

Hello,
Are you sure the options simply aren't collapsed?
The import window should look as follows;

There is no limited functionality in the Trial, only a time limit.0 -
I'm afraid not. This is what I'm getting.

There is something wrong here indeed! If you created a catalog, can you create a session (File, New Session) and see whether this works. Next, go back to your catalog (File, Open Recent) and see whether anything has changed.
And: do you use the default workspace (Window, Workspace, Default)?0 -
Same issue here. Wanted to try out catalog. MBPro 6,2 OS 10.6.8. BTW tether and live view working fine on this setup with 5DmkII. Installed CO7 in user apps folder to test. Still have CO6 in usual apps folder. 0 -
I can create a Session but I have the same problem, I cannot import images. The import window is the same as the one I posted above.
I was not using the default workspace. I had changed to the one with the image browser on the right but it makes no difference. I have swapped to the default workspace and created new catalogs and sessions. No success importing images.
I have imported a 715 image catalog from Media Pro and everything seems to be fine although, of course, I cannot import more images into it.

An old machine and not top specs, I know, but C1 6 Pro ran fine.0 -
Some progress.
I have just created a new, test user account on my Mac, and everything seems to be working as it should. I get the correct, full import window with all of the options that are in the image you posted above.
I don't really want to have to swap user accounts each time I launch Capture One though. Does anyone know if it is possible to 'reset' a user account?0 -
I think I've sorted myself out now. I'll keep testing to make sure.
I went into the Library and changed the name of the Capture One folder to a temporary name. Just to make sure I reinstalled Capture One 7 Pro. Launching the app forced it to create a new Capture One folder in the Library and it works fine (for now 😄 )

Worked for me, thanks! 0 -
Actually, this is standard procedure for me. I delete the Application Support folder for Capture One, and restore the necessary files I like to have. In particular for major version upgrades, this procedure prevents a lot of unpredictable errors. 0 -
Noted for future releases. I must say, this upgrade is excellent. I'll be buying the paid upgrade as soon as I find my wallet. 0
