    Hello,

Did you install Capture One 20 to the same installation directory as Version 12.  I have tried running multiple versions of C1 in parallel and it has worked for me in the past. Although I have not tried running V12 with V20 so not sure if this works, others in the Community may be able to tell you if they have run in this configuration. I would suggest that you try installing C1 V20 in a different location to V12 and see if it works.  It may be the case that you have overwritten V12 with your V20, so you may have to reinstall V12 and then install V20 under a different folder.

If you are not having any joy I would suggest that you Submit a Request as you will get a response directly from Capture One on the topic.

    Hope this helps.

You're talking to other users here, Daniel - not to Capture One.

"How can I get in contact with you?"

Top right of this (and every) page: "Submit a request".

Do you mean that you cannot install C1 12 or that C1 12 will not start up / activate.

If it is an issue with activations (3 for Pro versions) simply go to your C1 account page and manage your activations from there.

    Daniel,

Ah ok, I understand.  All I can suggest is that you get in contact with Capture One directly via the 'Submit a Request' button at the top of the page (or via the below link).

    Daniel,

I am sorry you did not get the answer you wanted.

Just out of curiosity, why do you want to keep version 12? It is possible to run more than one copy of Capture One under licence. It depends which licence you have of course.

For sure. I want to have the old version and try a new version.
But in everyday life I am improved with the old version and do not want to have time
until I can handle the old rights with version 20. That is the reason.

Above all, you paid money for it. Before and now again. So both versions should work. It's like buying a car. Then I buy new rims for half a year and I no longer get the old ones. That is not how it works. This is my opinion.

Ah, OK. Thanks Daniel, just curious. I understand your frustration and agree that it is unexpected that an old version would be disabled. It is something I will certainly watch out for in the future.

If you don't need it, it's ok. Let's see if Capture One offers me a solution. Depending on that, I will avoid updating this program in the future. There are enough editing programs and thetering programs too. Is it just one more step. I wanted to avoid this. Not so. we will see. I hope to understand the company.

"After purchasing the upgrade, Capture One will send you a NEW license code which you will use to activate a new version of Capture One.

At the same time, Capture One disables your old license code, so it will no longer work and appear in your License Management section on captureone.com

The new license still remains backward compatible so that you can activate an older version of Capture One. For instance, a Capture One Pro 20 perpetual license can still be used to activate the previous versions of Capture One Pro should you need to continue with the old software."

    https://support.captureone.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002412757-How-to-upgrade-Capture-One-

So the old license is disabled but not the old version, as I read that.
