Support staff acknowledged this problem. They suggested emptying the browser cache, but that presents its own problems.

I can log on to the forum in Firefox by going directly to https://support.captureone.com/hc/en-us/community/topics and signing in to leave a comment or new post, but in Safari, just as jj kk points out, II still get the error message. However, in Safari, if I log onto captureone.com and log in from that page, and then navigate to capture one support/forum, I can leave a comment or new post without the error message. This is a more difficult approach. Of note, once done, the Forum keeps you logged in if you do not log out.

You do not need to empty everything.  Click on the Manage Website Data.. button.  Search for capture, select captureone.com, and hit the Remove button.  Do not hit the Remove All button.

Thanks. Did it help correct the error message for you?

If I get a bunch of JSON data instead of a login prompt I remove the captureone.com data and then refresh the page.  That gets me a login.  Until the next time the capture one forums decide I need to login again.  Repeat as needed until the Capture One web team figures out what is wrong and fixes it.

It's disappointing that this forum makes it so you have to jump through hoops to post. I also don't like its layout and I don't like its general clunkiness. It doesn't reflect well on attitude to customers.  I'm a recent switcher to C1 and TBH this sort of customer experience is something that has permeated my perception of the company and it jars particularly when built up over a few areas.
