Capture one won't open up on new pc

    Have you extracted from the download file and run the installation process?

     

    If you have, how are you trying to open the program? Desktop shortcut or navigating to the program where it has been installed and starting it from there?

    I've tried both but nothing happens. Yes the files are download and I've clicked finish. It's created a shortcut on my desktop but when I try to launch it nothing happens. I've also downloaded new Mccafee virus software as it's a new pc. Nothing to do with that is it?

    Hi Shaun,

    Please check that you choose the Windows download from the download page and not the Mac version.

    Yes mate, definitely the windows download. I'm struggling with this as I need it on this new , faster pc for my wedding workflow

    Hello, I have the same problem. Bought a new pc with win 10 v. 19041.894. Also with McAfee.
    I have tried also to install CO 20 as well as CO 21. After the instalation is completed, the program doesn't start at all. I have the correct version downloaded. This should be not the problem.

    HI Maria, have you managed to fix this issue? I am still struggling and am not too happy because I'm paying for a service on a monthly basis that I cant use on my new PC. I was hoping the customer service guys may have jumped on this to help us out. If I cant get this sorted quickly I cant see the point carrying on with this software and shall move back to lightroom.

    Hello Shaun, 
    unfortunately not, I am waiting since yesterday for the feedback from the service guys. I have tried nummerous installation, also tried to deactivate firewall, I was able to start it once few days ago, it just statret after nummerous tries , so I was able to put the licence key and procces few photos, since than, it is not starting. I have no installed also the CO20 version, and deactivate the previous one, but it is not working. 

    Waiting for the support. I have bought the complete licence, not the  monthly abo :/

    I was able to maintain the issue. After following the step with C++ redistributes in this link, send to my by the support:

    I installed the 2015-2019 C++ libraries and now it works.

    As I'm not very technical , are you saying I need to re install the 2015-2019 version?   This is poor to say the least.

    This is a Windows anomaly issue. Seems to happen frequently with Windows updates where Microsoft (or the PC vendors creating products using WIndows software) have little interest in maintaining any degree of backward compatibility and leave that to much smaller developers to diagnose and sort out.

    For what it's worth my recently obtained Windows 10 PC has not exhibited any problems installing and running Capture One 20 or 21 this does not seem to be a generic problem. Perhaps it depends on the PC vendor and the way they choose to set up the particular model of PC.

    If you haven't sorted this yet, firstly check all your drivers are up to date from Windows and if the C++ drivers aren't, they should get picked up in the general update drivers check and then see if C1 works correctly.
