    I'm guessing that you upgraded your catalogue to the new version's format? That would explain why you can't open the catalogue with an older version.

    I'd say you have two options. Firstly, restore your backup within C1 - see https://support.captureone.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002518657-Restoring-a-Catalog-from-a-backup

    The other option would be to use Time Machine to restore your catalogue to the version immediately prior to you trying the new C1.
