Advanced Color Editor Feature Recommendations
ImplementedI use the advanced color editor pretty heavily on some ecom work we do (certain colors photograph quite a bit off - not all, but some) and I find it very useful to help keep some of those specific colors more true to what the naked eye sees. Mostly to help minimize post production color correction that my client would have to do later. There is just simply not time to hand color correct every angle and every chosen select of those images. And it is not that my overall color or lighting is off, there is just something bizarre that happens with some of these dyes under strobe lighting. And I cannot re-light on model shots just to make those particular colors look good, because then the rest of the image would look dreadful as would all the other shots requiring no such correction.
I am applying these adjustments to a separate fill layer that can be turned on/off depending on if those colors show up again.
So useful as the tool can be, it is really only halfway where we think it should be. Currently one can only affect lightness, saturation, and hue. But it would be immensely better if you could also control the contrast and color temperature - and frankly even have the the ability to plug in a target value.
