Anyone else having issues with feather masks

I have an issue reported to CO about v23 on Windows crashing when I click "feather mask". The system hangs and I have to kill it. (I am trying to get some work done and I let it sit for an hour today with no joy). 

CO has crashed seven (7) times. Six times trying to feather a mask and once while building a clarity layer. The latter crash was just that, I was drawing a clarity mask and the next thing was the "CO has not shut down in a controlled manner" or some such dialogue box.

Three (3) of these crashes were with GPU processing turned off and the other four (4) were with GPU processing turned on.

Updated WIndows 10 with the Dec. "patches" as of today. I did not expect a response from CO, but I received an email stating that my issue has been sent off to "someone". The last three (3) issues I reported to CO were cancelled without my interaction. So it goes, I don't have any expectations that this will be any different.

Anyway - I hope feather masks works for you. It is an abject failure for me.

    I'm sure this will be of no help to you, Philip, but I just tested mask feathering in my CO 23 installation and encountered no issues. All aspects and outcomes of the process - including clarity adjustments - worked as expected and without crashes. 

    Do you encounter a crash regardless of the image to which you attempt to apply a feathered mask?

    The issue has happened every time I select feather mask on any image. I am working with CO now and I am going to send them more information. 

    To be honest, I think they will just come out and say that it is my problem, like they have for the last few issues I reported.

    Hi,
    I have the same issue on two of my computers.
    All my PC are running with Windows 10 22H2.

    Non working Feather Mask:

    • PC1: Windows 10 22H2 v19045.2486 (GPU Disabled), Capture One 16.0.2
    • PC2: Windows 10 22H2 v19045.2486 (GPU Enabled), Capture One 16.0.1 (i'll try to upgrade in few minutes to check if it this upgrade fix the issue)

    No issue with Feather Mask:

    • PC3: Windows 10 22H2 v19045.2486 (GPU Enabled), Capture One 16.0.2

    Very strange bug.

    With the latest build, GPU acceleration on and off, CO v23 16.0.2.11 still crashes. 

    I have updated my ticket, but they seem to have fixed one issue only to break another.

    I will go kill it now.

    With the release of CO v23 16.1 the issue with feather and refine masks has been resolved.

    My ticket has been closed (it was related to my ancient CPU - go figure).

    After upgrading Capture One, the issue is fixed. :-)
