What are you talking about? This refers to crop for Raws, as jpg have the crop already applied to them. The edit starts with the raw data and c1 applies on top of the raw data it's default curves ...

I dont think 1 is possible to a RAW. Of course number 2 is the way I am asking for. C1 should read crop metadata embeded in the raw file and apply the crop accordingly. You should be able to reset ...
