That would also be acceptable, as long as the image comparison function (Find->Show Similar...) worked across catalogs in addition to the other EXIF search functions. From a logical standpoint tho...

As far as performance, backups, and more importantly, delivering on an advertised feature 😊, perhaps it's not too late to introduce a bundle format for the database files?
