    ok - just to let everybody know = problem solved.  It was annoying me that "old" files imported ok, but any new shot files did not. I reset the camera to factory settings and re-entered all details...

    thanks for your comment Ernst, C1 has come back to me already with logs and screen grab request. I do understand that responses take time, but as I cannot import any new images into C1 at the momen...
