The Library Tool lets you browse and organize files from your computer, external drives, or network locations. It functions as a filtered file explorer in your Catalogs and Sessions, showing albums, folders, and supported files.
Use the hierarchical tree to navigate your document. Thumbnails of the images within your selected folder or collection will be displayed in the Browser.

Library Tool in Sessions
With the release of Capture One 16.6.0, the Library Tool has a new folder hierarchy for Sessions, including updated folder actions. Favorites, Albums, and System Folders remain unchanged.
The Session Folders section (Capture, Selects, Output, and Trash) has been renamed Shortcuts.
You’ll now see the full folder hierarchy under the new Session Folders section, making it easier to manage nested structures. Any folder can be set as Capture, Selects, Output, or Trash by right-clicking and choosing the option.
Clicking the + plus button next to Session Folders now gives you two choices: Add folder inside or Add multiple folders inside. The second option opens the Session Builder interface for faster creation of complex structures. For details, see The Complete Guide to Sessions in Capture One
Library Tool in Catalogs
A Catalog has more options for organizing images using virtual folders (Projects, Groups, and Albums), and while it is essential with one master or several large Catalogs, there are still many benefits for using them with smaller project-oriented Catalogs or Sessions. Regardless of which management option you’re using, the Library tool tab is where all file navigation and organization takes place.
Hide/Show Folders Hierarchy
Use this option to show only the last folder or the entire path.

Why does my library tool toggle only show one of my sessionss? I have created 2 sessions (2020, 2021), but the toggle at the top of the library pane only shows one session and the option to "clear menu." I would expect the toggle at the top would show both sessions and allow me to navigate between the two.
Hi,
If you clicked on 'Clear menu' before, there will be only the current item in the menu.
Open the other Session from the main menu File -> Open and navigate to the .cosessiondb file.
I've just installed Capture One 14.4.1.6 (windows 10) and I don't see "System Folders" in the Library tool tab. How do I add that to the Library tool tab?
okay, got it. Creating an new session did the trick (instead of opening a new session)
The entire left-sided display (with library, adjustments, etc) abruptly disappeared while the program was open and I haven't been able to figure out how to bring back the display. That has made the program totally unusable.
