New topic for users on older versions
PinnedHi everyone,
I've made this topic and archived all of the many topics related to older versions of Capture One across different platforms.
If you're here to find an older version of Capture One, then you'll find this link useful: https://www.captureone.com/en/account/download/previous - you can download back to version 10.2.1 and if you need an older version than that, you'll have to contact support.
Moving forward, we'll have one topic for the latest Capture One release (both containing Windows and Mac) and will retain the most recent or relevant release prior to that for those who don't meet the system requirements for the latest version, or are simply on a perpetual license.
This is to make the forum cleaner and easier to navigate. Far too many search results were returning with information only relevant to incredibly old or niche versions of Capture One that have since been deprecated.
Kind regards,
Jack

cleaner and easier to navigate
For "cleaner" I suggest to work on effective spam filters and spam reporting.
For "easier to navigate": Do you really have complaints from forum users about this? The recents posts and recent activities work fine regardless of how many topics the forum has, and the search facility has a function to restrict the results to specific topics.
Of course less posts mean less old noise but you also elimate information which is relevant for users of every version.

But maybe I misunderstood "archive". These posts wil still be available?

When I search for "a" I can only find 5 results in topic for version 12 and 11, which is way to less:
But when I want to see them then .... nothing (it says 5 but it lists no links)
If I search for "color" there is not even one result in that topic.

Why give an answer to a spam post? There's a spurious link in the second sentence (after the words "incredibly old"). Instead of being given answers, these spammers should be removed from the forum.

Ian Wilson I can't see the reply you're referring to, but I guess I got tricked. Spam filters are active and actually do a very good job of filtering out spam posts and comments – I don't think spam is as big of a problem as it used to be, as we check the filters multiple times daily.
However, I have been on holiday for nearly 2 weeks and I've got some catching up to do, so some things will have slipped through the cracks. Bear with me :)

Jack-W the reply I referred to has gone. Maybe one of your colleagues removed it?

BeO Thanks for the feedback regarding spam and how we can make the forum "cleaner"
We do our best with the native spam filters we're supplied with and I run manual checks on the forum every morning. The spam filters are also checked multiple times a day by multiple people, but I think we need to work on or figure out a way to make them a bit more intelligent (as you can see above, I got caught out the other day by a very well educated bot!)
Now that we actually have people moderating the forum, I hope that it continues to be a less spammy space and that you'll notice the difference with myself and Denis Huk around.
With regards to being "easier to navigate" - it's not so much that we get people complaining, I just want it to be the best experience possible. I do get people saying that the "tile" layout is somewhat confusing and not pleasing to browse, but each to their own.
I'm surprised you're even seeing those topics that you mention, as they should no longer be visible. Could you confirm it's still the case? I can see that the settings are all correct on my end and those topics shouldn't be viewable to anybody but admins.
Massive thank you for the feedback. Let's keep this dialog going. :)

HI Jack-W,
When I search for "a" and click on "Community" then "more topics" then it shows me the topics and number of search results on the left as shown beloww:

BeO I get that, thanks. But just not sure why you're seeing a bunch of topics that have been archived, as half of those search results shouldn't even appear.
Frustrating. I'll look into it!
