import dialog: *per catalog* default main folder, naming and other settings
What problem do you see this solving?
Simple answer: Spend less time in the import dialog.
I am working with several different clients over the course of months to many years.
So I made separate catalogs for each bigger client to keep things organized.
In these catalogs I have different folder path schemes and file naming conventions, specific to the need for this one client.
For example:
raw files for Client/catalog A go in /Pictures/ClientA/YEAR/MONTH/DAY/ and are named „YYYYMMDD-Filenumber.CR2“
but for client B it’s /Harddisk2/ClientB/YEAR_MM_DD/ and the name is „NUMBER_projectname.CR2“
Now everytime I switch between clients and import new photos I need to change these settings manually.
(for comparison in Lightroom there has long been a way to save these settings specific to a catalog)
Possible "easy" solution: In Capture One's export panel/recipes there already is one similar feature called „Catalog default _output_ folder“. When implemented for _import_ would help a lot.
Saving all the import settings directly to the catalog file would save much more time than all the other recent import improvements with groups and culling...

When was the last time you were affected by this lack of functionality, or specific tool?
Today. Every time I import photos for a different client.
Are you using any workarounds or other solutions to achieve your goals in Capture One?
Lots of clicks and time spent adjusting - then adjusting it back again on the next job...
Are you happy to be contacted further about this suggestion or request?
