Implement an Import and Bulk Metadata Template Mechanism with Tokens

What problem do you see this solving?
As a wildlife, architecture and landscape photographer, I will apply a given set of IPTC metadata based on things like location, subject and other characteristics. Having a template for IPTC metadata defined that can be called on and updated during import or after that allows for efficient and quick application of metadata as well as for later bulk updates, as needed. Additionally, having the ability to use token substitution (such a lens or camera make, model) or custom metadata with such things as bird metadata as part of text entered into an appropriate IPTC field (e.g. caption/description, keywords, headline, etc) provides for additional capabilities around image search and categorization. This feature should be part of any bulk update capabilities as well to allow for changes post import. 

When was the last time you were affected by this lack of functionality, or specific tool?
I am affected on every image import. Today, I use this capability as found in Photo Mechanic the results of which are then subsequently loaded into a Capture One session. Having this capability, along with the great work the Capture One team have done on culling and grouping will remove the need for Photo Mechanic for me and perhaps other customers. 

Are you using any workarounds or other solutions to achieve your goals in Capture One?
Today I use Photo Mechanic's extensive metadata capabilities for both import and bulk changes to image metadata.

  They can be used on import. 

  No token support though.

  Thank you! I wasn't entirely aware of this, to be honest (and sadly too), and that's definitely awesome. I think if I were to phrase it a bit differently it would be "on the fly" metadata templates from the import dialogue, so that when I was culling images, tokens could be used, for example custom bird species (which I know I can load) and so forth. So "On the fly" + Tokens would be valuable.
