    You can if you like. But with thousands of images, how are you going to organise them? Maybe a catalog would give you more scope, because it has more ways of organising images. 

    However, if you want to you can use a single session. If your images are already on your computer, you could just navigate to the folders where they are and work on them there. One the other hand if they are on memory cards you will have to transfer them to the computer, either using the Importer in Capture One, or transferring them to the computer and then doing as I mentioned above.

    But if you are completely new to Capture One, you would do well to start with a few images and find out how the app works first.
