Please add support to Sony heif-files
What problem do you see this solving?
C1 does not support modern file-types like heif-files from Sony. These are superior compared to jpg and having professional software like the C1 these should be supported.
When was the last time you were affected by this lack of functionality, or specific tool?
As support for the file type is missing, and jpg-quality is not enough for me, I am forced to use raw-files. Sony a1 raw files are rather large and in a way overkill what would be needed. Working with these raw files takes a LOT of space...
Are you using any workarounds or other solutions to achieve your goals in Capture One?
workarounds are not possible as far as I know.
Are you happy to be contacted further about this suggestion or request?
Yes.

The Sony A1 support HEIF (4:2:0) and (4:2:2). Neither of these file types can be imported into Capture One 23 (16.1.1.16) as import browser is not able to find files. Both of these file types can be opened with MacOS (Ventura 13.1).
I have also found the same article, but I think it is talking only(?) about Apple HEIF which I suppose is somehow different to Sony's...

Can't be so hard to implement. On1Raw does loads Sony hif files as well as Affinity Photo on a Windows 11 PC
