16.2 Import Image Performance Problems
Since updating to 16.2 (16.2.0.112) I'm experiencing slowness when scrolling through images to import. I'm a sports photographer and regularly end up with 2000+ RAW images from my Sony A9-ii after a match that I need to rapidly choose selects from to send off for publication. Prior to 16.2 I was able to scroll through images from the built-in card reader on my M1-Max MacBook Pro (64GB RAM) with no noticeable delay. As of today when I installed 16.2 there is now a big lag after I choose to go to the next or prior image that makes choosing selects quite painful. I don't know if this is somehow related to the eye-focus feature (which I have disabled) or something else, but this new performance problem makes using Capture One nearly untenable for my workflow, as I need to be able to review, select, edit and export images at half time and immediately after matches. For those wondering why I would shoot RAW for sports, there are a lot of advantages, not least of which is the flexibility gained when shooting under lights that can change color cast from frame to frame.
I hope that this is an issue that Capture One is already aware of and working to resolve. If not, I'd love to help out in diagnosing the cause of this problem.
Thanks,
