Adding crop ratios for scripting
What problem do you see this solving?
Please make the crop settings (selecting and creating ratios) accessible for scripting.
At least selecting the created ratios should be possible.
little side note not regarding scripting: By selecting the crop tool it should also be possible to define a specific ratio without creating a new "aspect ratio preset".
When was the last time you were affected by this lack of functionality, or specific tool?
every time i use capture one. Specially when working with different overlays (different overlay ratios / unknown overlay ratios).
Are you using any workarounds or other solutions to achieve your goals in Capture One?
When working with multiple overlays (one image has to work in landscape portrait, posters and screens, etc.). I have to be able to quickly check different overlays.
With a shortcut (triggering a macro) I'm switching between different overlays. Using a terminal shell script I'm able to get the width/height of the overlay (which is not always in a perfect/known ratio. My script then sets the crop size to the current image of the gotten ratio (on max width or height). If I wanna change the crop size, position, etc. I have to keep holding shift. Otherwise the crop ratio switches to the selected ratio (which is not scriptable). Therefore all the pretty good options of the crop tool are pretty much all gone.
To be said:
Adjusting the "user crop ratio" XML file with the script, requests a restart of capture one which is not really a option :).
If this would be possible to I'd be more than happy...
Are you happy to be contacted further about this suggestion or request?
Any time.
