Make a Reddit for CaptureOne
What problem do you see this solving?
Make a Reddit for CaptureOne/CaptureOnePro. People need to talk about this app, and not just behind the closed doors of the CaptureOne Community. This will make your app more popular and well-known. Stop thinking of yourself as a tool for only professionals. Invite open conversation with new people of all levels of expertise. Did you know most photographers don't even know CaptureOne exists? People know about Adobe Lightroom, and that is all. In my city, I am the only photographer that I know who uses CaptureOne. Everyone else uses Lightroom.
You guys need to improve your outreach and global presence. You don't need to advertise. Just make yourselves exist on other platforms. You don't really even need to man the platforms. Just put a link in there to the official forums, so people can talk on Reddit and then come here for the serious discussions. Heck, you should be talking to Reddit about integrating Reddit into your community forums somehow.
Are you happy to be contacted further about this suggestion or request?

There's already a Capture One sub-Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/captureone/
But you are welcome to start your own community if the existing sub doesn't fit your needs, or you wish to take it in your own direction. :)
We're aware of the existing community and frequently visit it ourselves. But I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on how we can do more online and build a larger community, not just focussed on Capture One, but photography in general.

OddS. Thanks, I'll check it out.
Jack W Hi, I remember replying to your comment but I don't see my reply anywhere. Thank you for the link. I am wondering though, how come I could never find that subreddit from the Reddit main page? It didn't show up in the global search. That is concerning. Especially because the main point I'm making is that you guys need to be discoverable. People need to be able to find you and happen across your subreddit, either via accidental searches, or via recommendation algorithms/reposts in other subreddits.
Also---tangentially related, the #editwithus hashtag doesn't clue people in that CaptureOne was involved. Maybe the hashtag should be something else more unique like #editwithC1 #C1edit #C1photo #CaptureOneEdit or #CaptureOnePhoto. Can't be #CaptureOne because someone who doesn't know the company exists will assume that the hashtag indicates the person took 1 photo.

Ryan Johnson I completely agree, but I don't manage the Capture One sub-Reddit and don't have anything to do with our social media channels. Maybe you were searching whilst the Reddit protest was occurring? (they may have set the sub to private)
I'm not a subscriber to the sub on my personal Reddit account, and it appeared right away, at the top of the search results. I am however, using a third party application.
I will forward your feedback on to our social media team, both with regards to the discoverability of the sub and also the hashtag.
How are you finding the forum compared to using Reddit, may I ask?0 -
