    Hi,
I just tested it and it works for me.
    USB data connection MTP/PTP
    C1 Ver. 16.2.2.10
    Live view
Direct connection USB-C cable without converter
    Image is transferred
    Greetings

    Thank you!
I just tried again and this time it worked for me as well. After my MacBook went to sleep again it didn’t. After a restart it did again.
So it seems to be a bit buggy but in general working.

I get no connection to my Nikon Z8 - no camera found.

I have tried reinstalling C1, Resetting the camera, different cables, rebooting the computer. But no luck so far.

Haven’t tested on my Officemac yet, but so far the MacBook Pro M2 hasn’t had connection either via usb-c or Wi-Fi connection.
I have disabled all other brands than Nikon in settings

    Tested on two machines

    Macbook pro M2 - Sonoma 14.0

    Imac Pro - Sonoma 14.0

USB-C with map/ptp setting and tether pro cable

    Still no luck...

What custom settings are you using?

    Jacob
    My adjustments

Under System Settings I have the following settings
    - USB connection priority
    - Upload
    Under Network menu
    -MTP/PtP

in general adjustments at Capture One
    - Recording
    - select Nikon both USB/Wireless (important !!)

By the way: Retether is an ingenious option; you can remove the USB cable, continue taking photos and reconnect it. The images are all imported and updated.

    Hope it helps.

    Nope but thanks anyway!

I tried with direct wifi, and the camera appears but greyed out, and the busy-wheel is spinning. But to no avail.

Also tried deactivating the card-retether option. And I updated to Sonoma 14.1

Wanted to use it in teaching photography, but guess the god old cameras, has to make an appearance instead :-(

Same issue on my end. Just bought a Z8 and was ready to tether and shoot. It worked fine for about 5 mins and then it kept connecting/disconnecting. Very strange. Used the settings that HeKoVS suggested. No luck. Also had success with my Z6ii. So it seems to be an issue with the Z8.

Hopefully Capture One people are listening.

Oh no, I am about to buy the Z8.  I might hold off till this issue is resolved.  Tethering is a must for me!  Also, I am assuming wireless tethering does not work with the Z8.

Certainly not a specific problem with the Z8, but not necessarily with the C1 either.
Among other things, I have found that when an exclusive USB driver is loaded by another app, the interface is blocked.
I also use Reikan Focal and if C1 is previously loaded and opened, tethering does not work in Reikan and vice versa, C1 has no connection to the Z8.
I spoke to Reikan support and they have a list of applications it doesn't work with.
C1 could possibly have the same problem.

    My current system
    Macbook pro M1
    Sonoma 14.3.1
C1 16.3.4 (16.3.5 crashed with Z8 DNG files on startup)

    Workaround
    Sonoma Reboot
Start C1 exclusively without other applications
    Maybe it works .
