`hide images in subfolders / `show images in subfolders
hides or shows images from sub folders in its parent folders

Tip: Just try things out in a test catalog with a copy of some of your images, and use the video webinars and online help ressources.

as I said in the original post, I did what you say above, but it doesn't work for me.  and I do try tests before sending questions out.  I've even read those articles.

and I do try tests before sending questions out.

I did not mean to offend you, so need to defend.

as I said in the original post, I did what you say above, but it doesn't work for me.

I did not tell you to do anything (apart from reading what you did) but explained what the menu entry means;  you did not tell us a single word what you did but rather that you are confused.

Anyway, if you want more help from anybody here in the forum then youh ight consider to enable user members here to do so by telling and maybe illustratubg exactly what you did, what you expected and what C1 gave or didn't give you.

Well, you created this post in the beginner questions section, and you being confused with things which is probably not much confusing for someone more experienced and /or beginners with lot of reading, viewing and testing out, I though that pointing you to some of this stuff was a good idea. Apparently not.

But in no ways it was meant to question you, offend you, slapping you. You will rarely find such attitude here in the C1 forum, so raise your expectations about other users here being kind and trying to help, rather than trying to slap in someone's face.

This having said, I think it can be expected that a proper description of the issue you want to discuss is provided in that post, not somewhere else to the community. Contrary to what you might possibly still think I am willing to help you, as are probably others, but with the current information I cannot. You can even paste or drag&drop small images into your posts for illustration, and have near endless space for explanations.

Btw, I see you are here since one week, so welcome to the forum.

I am trying to view images under collections... this is an example of one level collection, but I want to also view all images from sub-collections as well. I believe I have enabled view images in subfolders (I tried with this disabled as well, but didn't work).

The function "Hide (or Show) images in sub folders" is only working on the 'real' folders in the Folders section of the library tool.

The fact that these menu items are enabled on right-click is either by (strange) design or a sofware glitch. (The same is true for "Add folder..." which is also meaningless in the context of collections.
