Fuji HEIF Compatibility
What problem do you see this solving?
Capture One Pro is supposed to support HEIF image files, but my Fujifilm X-T5's HEIF images are not recognised.
When was the last time you were affected by this lack of functionality, or specific tool?
I have recently bought this camera (X-T5) and was looking forward to the improvements of HEIF over JPEG, including saving space on my hard drive. Every time I try to import these files I fail.
Are you using any workarounds or other solutions to achieve your goals in Capture One?
The lack of support for Fujifilm HEIF means that I cannot use these files directly in Capture One; I have to work around the problem by using another application, such as GIMP, Graphic Converter, Affinity Photo, Pixelmator etc . . .
Are you happy to be contacted further about this suggestion or request?

Also struggling with this. Can't get Capture One to import a FujiFilm HEIF!

Me too. Mac won't preview RAF Files, Capture One won't import HEIF files. This is a nuisance. A two year old post by CO support says that the format is supported, but that is clearly not completely correct.

CO supports 8-bit HEIF files. Apple now exports 10-bit HEIF. The HEIF part is supported. The 10-bit is not.
No comment (to my knowledge) from Capture One whether they will add support for the new 10-bit HEIF files but the older 8-bit HEIF are still fully supported.

C1 says: «The support is provided for Apple HEIC and other photos converted to 8-bit HEIF to the extent that those are supported by the underlying operating system.»
Actually macOS only supports 8-bit HEIF. While I don't have HEIF original files, I'm using it as a long-term archival format. macOS preview doesn't make me display these files, but other applications do (such as Gimp).
I wonder whether there are third party tools (operating system extensions) to support >8-bit HEIF files, as this could be a solution. So far I've searched for them with no results.
