Canon RF 70-200 f4 L lens support?

In C1 under Lens Correction 'Profile' it just says 'Generic'. But when I use my Canon 24-105f4 L lens it actually has this lens written there, not Generic.

So not sure if C1 is using the 'embedded' Canon adjustments. I'm not super clued up with lens profiles. I just assumed that C1 needed the exact profile and to automatically select it for the image to present perfectly?

So I can't suggest any adjustments as I was hoping C1 has these profile there already so I don't have to start photographing all sorts of scientific charts to figure it out for myself.

    Hi,

No, there is no 'Manufacturer' listed in the Profile drop-down list. Just 'Generic' and 'Generic pincushion distrotion' along with various camera manufacturer brands, including Canon, Sony etc.

When using the Canon RF 24-105 f4 L under the Profile this lens is listed and selected by default and it says 'Canon RF 24-105 f4L IS USM'. Other than that just 'Generic' and 'Generic pincushion distortion' as well as other Canon and Sony options for example.

Yes, I'm shooting RAW CR3 files, never shoot anything else. In C1 if I click the Metadata tab the Canon lens shows up as RF70-200mm F4 L IS USM under Vendor Specific Lens information.

Also, when I click on the Lens Corrector Profile drop down box there are 36 Canon RF lenses listed there, including the 70-200 f2.8, the 24-105 f5, and loads of others, so why is the RF 70-200 f4 L lens not in that list? This has nothing to do with metadata coming from my file, it is not listed in the list to start with.

If I use a lens profile of the 70-200 f2.8 I can't see any change. Not worth my trying lens adjustment tools either as the images look fine to me and I would not know if any adjustment would be making them worse. I just need to find out why the RF70-200 f4L lens is not listed int he lens profile list when all the other RF lenses are? It's that simple.

How do I create a Support Request to C1? You have instructions, links, phone number etc?

I did all that, I requested support and the result is our messages back and forth?

To be honest this site is so confusing and one has no idea if they are posting a ticket, a bug fix request, tech help or to the forum etc, really needs to be made simple as too darn confusing. Are there forums on here? What is the link? Are there ticket system for help? What is the link? Is there an email address to contact C1 about issues? What is it?

Yes, that's exactly what I did, and ended up here.

I followed your instructions and selected 'Still need help? Reach out to us' and I filled that out and it ended up here in this thread.

When I asked for lens support for a different lens in the feature request forum, the thread got promptly moved to the “Gear talk” forum:

    https://support.captureone.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/13481777395101-Support-for-Zeiss-Classic-100mm-f-2-and-50mm-f-2-lenses-on-Canon

with the comment that they use telemetry to decide which lenses they will make profiles for. (Too bad for me that the lenses I asked for are already present twice, under different names.)

And, indeed, if you look there you will see that someone has already asked for support for the RF 70–200mm f/4 11 days ago:
