Dodge and burn tool similar to photoshop for mask refinement

What problem do you see this solving?
Easily refine masks in problem areas similar to adjusting channel masks in photoshop. For example with the images below you could burn darker area and dodge lighter area to get rid of the fuzz or slightly missed areas. With this project the fuzziness was appearing with adjustments and was not fixed with the refine mask feature.
