    In my experience, it's always been like this with hot pixels. They seem to be one the things that you can only judge by looking at the image at 100% zoom (others including noise reduction, moiré correction, purple fringe correction, etc). I think you have to zoom in to 100%, apply the correction to the extent required, and then trust that despite what the preview seems to show, it will be OK in the output.

    Which is a bit of a long-winded way of saying that I think this is a part of a wider issue about how previews work and what adjustments they do and don't display properly.
