    There is keyboard shortcut for that.

    • Press "e" to switch to erase.
    • Press SHIFT+E to switch between eraser tools.
    • Press "b" to switch to brush.
    • Press SHIFT+B switches between brush tools.
    • Hold down OPT (ALT) to temporarily switch between brush and erase.

    Hope that helps!

    @FirstName LastName

    Also: When you are using the brush or the AI brush, you can press "Option" on your Mac and it changes to erase mode. Release the Option key, and you are back in brush drawing mode.

    Thanks for the help!

    I was aware of the hot keys (and onboarding is made easy with popup info panel about tools) I did look in the hotkeys section but count figure it out (how to setup a single key to switch between from the current function to it opposite - such as how "X" works when using a brush and layer mask's in PS)

    So thanks you for your insight "Sharon Leibel" the Option key is what I was looking for - silly me - you help is much appreciated.

    FirstName LastName,

    setup a single key to switch between from the current function to it opposite

    Yes, the useful permanent switch to an opposite function using the same key has been discontinued, B was activating the brush and another B was activating the eraser.

    It would be great if one could assign any shortcut to n arbitrary tools, (e.g. brush, magic brush, eraser to B) in the keyboard shortcut configuration to ones liking, so that they toggle (in case of two) or activate in a sequence (in case of more), but that is not possible.

    Holding the ALT/OPT key switches while you hold that key. E switches to erase. SHIFT-E switches between different erase tools. SHIFT-B switches between different brush tools.
