thank you, you are the first to clearly describe how this works here

When i ordered i was expecting to get camera support, because Camera is no Feature!!!!!!!!!!!
and new Version will start with 17 after 16 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is how it usually works in the industry every where else
I am not a professional, so i do not know how it usually works in this industry but because of that it is also too expensive for me

Specially, when you do not get answers from the support system

I just got my new first brand new bought camera, a Lumix G9 II.
Buying the software as my birthday present and expecting to be able to use the Camera when i receive it and now i have a useless software....

I am a hobbyist and the price of the software is really high for a hobby and now i have to pay it twice
I would love to give back my licence and get the money back to get be able to invest in another software that gives proper updates for more than a couple of weeks.

I really love the way you wrote "That's how Capture One works perpetual licenses now" cause that means you want people to subscribe to make more and more money and it was different before and you forgot to put all the information on the page what has changed...

Stefan Trucker. First off, I'm a community mod with no affiliation with Capture One.  I'm like the guy that picks up trash as he walks through the park - doesn't make me a city employee nor imply I have any pull.

That disclaimer out of the way:  You mention you're new to photography.  Just FYI, new camera support is 99.99999% of the time considered a new feature by all RAW photo editing software.  Every once in a blue moon new camera support will be included in a service release but only because it's somehow convenient for whatever company.  Adding software support for a new camera is a time intensive process and is, in all respects, the core of what these applications are selling.  Just so you know going forward, always check the supported cameras list before you buy any software unless you're picking up a subscription.  If your camera is not specifically included on that list, chances are extremely high you'll have to spend more money later.

Also FYI, Capture One is offering a 50% discount now through the 27(?).  You might want to check that out.

it is linked from capture one as support forum but you are not affiliated, what the fuck

it is the same with that shady update path, where you not know what updates are included or not

at least you answered one week faster that the support team from capture one, ...

comparing to affinity foto, or DxO they have transperent update paths and give users the change who recently bought the software to update for free!!!!!!!!

not like capture one where the loilty update is more expensive than the Black Friday sale or sale in camera shops
Fuck customers who needs them, right!!!!
