Loyalty Discount?
I have been a loyal client for many years. When Phase One uncoupled Capture one to a stand alone business, the customer-focus has become more and more blurry. I, like many loyal users were suspicious of the change to upgrading the software. I purchased the upgrade last year even though there wasn't much in it for me. With the upgrade I signed on for the "Loyalty Program". This gives me a 40% discount. Yesterday I looked at what Capture One to see if there was a Black Friday promotion. It's 50% off for EVERYONE, not even a modest, additional discount for those who have supported this product for many years, nothing!
I'm an amateur so I am not able expense product. What Capture One has demonstrated here is that they have zero loyalty. That there's no reason to stay on the Upgrade Treadmill because jumping in every two, or three years as a New Customer is much less expensive.

Moved to correct board.
John,
Not sure if you're aware but the loyalty discount is meant to be an "off ramp" to the subscription program and stacks year over year for each year you don't use it. By way of example:
Year 1 > start subscription
Year 2 > continue subscription > discount = 20% (at first year anniversary)
Year 3 > continue subscription > discount = 40% (at second year anniversary)
Year 4 > continue subscription > discount = 60% (at third year anniversary)
Year 5 > continue subscription > discount = 80% (at fourth year anniversary)
Year 6 > continue subscription > discount = 100% (at fifth year anniversary)
Of course, you can exercise the discount any time you want which resets it to Year 1. That said, the loyalty discount is meant to address the standing question of "What happens to my photos when I no longer want to continue my subscription?" You can use the discount to buy into a perpetual license at an ever-reducing cost which will eventually reduce to 0.
Disclaimer: At least this is my understanding of how the program works and why it's structured the way it is.

Brian,
The Loyalty Discount I'm referring to is for those who have a perpetual licence. I currently have all upgrades to version 16.2, to get 16.3 I need to purchase a new licence. I upgraded under the final offering under the old upgrade regime.
My discount code entitles me to a 40% discount on a new licence. Currently, Capture One is being offered to everyone at 50% off. People who have supported the software for several years receive no additional / modest recognition for their loyalty. It's the opposite of customer appreciation.
In fact, if I had upgraded three weeks ago I would have paid substantially more than those jumping in for the first time.

John and John, I did not know that, actually. I thought you were talking about the loyalty discount for subscriptions. Thanks for the correction.
