    1. Delete the app preferences before starting the program just in case that file has gotten corrupt. Look in your home folder's Library/Preferences for files ending in captureone16.plist and delete them. If they are missing Capture One will recreate them. Here is a Terminal window set of commands you can try.

    % ls -l Library/Preferences/*captureone16*
    -rw-------  1 walter  staff    1881 Dec 26 09:04 Library/Preferences/com.captureone.captureone16.cullingState.plist
    -rw-------  1 walter  staff  122349 Jan  5 19:48 Library/Preferences/com.captureone.captureone16.plist
    % rm Library/Preferences/*captureone16*

    2. Hold down the Option key while starting Capture One. This will start Capture One with the Recents panel showing. While that panel is showing go to File > Verify Catalog and select your catalog. Let it verify. If it fails then choose the Repair button. That should repair any issues with the catalog. Once that finishes you can click the Open button to open the catalog and see if it opens without crashing.

Let us know if either of these options resolve your issue. If not we can try some additional things regarding the folder where Capture One stores its presets, styles, export recipes, etc.
