how can I apply EIPs to TIFFs

Capture One can only package raw files as EIPs. And in a TIFF, the adjustments (for instance the white balance) are "baked in" so there is no real way of copying adjustments from a TIFF to a raw file or from a raw file to a TIFF.

Are you retouching on layers? Can you recreate the PSD from the new EIP and copy the PS adjustment layers to the new PSD?

Thank you for your answer. The problem is due to the different versions of Capture One; the photographer is using CP1-23, while I have CP1-21. Consequently, none of the EIP settings he sent are visible on my cp1 21 so I ended up retouching the raw photos. As far as I understand, there is no way to fix this other than either upgrading to CP1-23 and redoing the retouching from scratch or having the photographer convert the EIP settings to TIFF or PSD and send them to me. In short, all frames need to be retouched again. I'm quite frustrated with Capture One today. The lack of EIP support in a not-so-old version caused me significant trouble. Thanks a lot, Capture One.  : /

Capture One has been able to handle EIPs for many years, so Capture One 21 certainly can. But an EIP is just a package containing the raw file and adjustments made to it all bundled up together in what is effectively a ZIP file. The problem may be that whether or not an EIP has been used, some of the adjustments made in Capture One 23 may use features not available in Capture One 21. For example, Capture One 23 introduced layers in styles, which is not a feature of Capture One 21. Whether or not that feature has been used, perhaps there is no backwards compatibility? Ideally, of course, photographer and retoucher are using the same version.

Can you download a trial version of CO1 23? Maybe on another computer to avoid clashes. Not sure how the trials work if you already have a version installed.
