Help Needed: Sony A7IV Tethering Issue in Capture One
Dear Forum Members,
I'm seeking assistance with a persistent issue I've encountered while attempting to tether my Sony A7IV to Capture One 16.3.4 on my Windows notebook.
After a fresh install of Capture One, the program initially detected my Sony A7IV (firmware 2.0), but unfortunately, it consistently refused to tether though a wifi and presented an error message. Following some online suggestions, I disabled the authentication options on my camera, which unfortunately resulted in the program no longer detecting the camera at all.
Also I was testing different connection methods such as Wi-Fi Direct, hotspot and wired connections, I have been unable to establish a successful connection. Even after updating my camera's firmware from 2.0 to 2.01, the problem.
Interestingly, upon unplugging the USB cable, I received a message indicating that the Sony A7IV had been successfully connected, despite the camera not being recognized during the actual connection process.
It's worth noting that the Sony Imaging Desktop App works flawlessly wirelessly and wired on the same notebook, indicating that the issue may be specific to Capture One.
I have also tested my USB cable on a desktop computer with Capture One 16.3.3, and it worked without any problems.
I tried to uninstall and reinstall C1, downgraded to 16.3.3 on a notebook.
If anyone has experienced similar challenges or has any suggestions for troubleshooting steps I could undertake, I would greatly appreciate your insights.
Thank you for your assistance.

I am experiencing the exact same problem... Sony A7iv Won't sync to capture one via USB C. Latest version of Capture One, newest firmware 2.01 on the Sony. Works when tethered to PC but not to Asus notebook. Even reset windows 11, issue persists.

Seems like a big bug in C1…
