Search Capability for "Is This Photo in 'All Images' used in any Collection?"
What problem do you see this solving?
Imported photos are always automatically added to "All Images" and to "Recent Imports". HOWEVER, they only end up in a "User Collection" Project/Album if I remember to assign them there. I call photos that "live" only in "All Images" - and nowhere else - "Orphan" photos.
(1) I want to be able to search "All Images" for "Orphan" photos that "live" ONLY there and are not in any "User Collection" Project/Album, so I could then assign them correctly.
(2) I also want select a photo in "All Images" and search for list of all Projects/Albums referencing that photo. Then I can quickly see if that photo has pointers to any Projects/Albums where it does not belong.
Doing either of these searches manually is hugely time-consuming and error prone. An improved "Search" capability would give a rapid way to verify the structure and completeness of my photo organization.
This suggested Search capability is somewhat related to my previous suggestion for "File Status" search - but different enough that I did not want to cause confusion by putting them both in the same post.
When was the last time you were affected by this lack of functionality, or specific tool?
Almost every day I look for a photo in what I think is the correct album and it's not there. So I go to "All Images" and find it - but then I have no easy way to find what Album(s) it actually is in - IF ANY!
Are you using any workarounds or other solutions to achieve your goals in Capture One?
I frequently look for a certain photo I remember. If it had keywords, it is usually easy. But many of my older 50,000 photos do not have keywords. Then I have to resort to manually scanning "All Images" to find it. This proposed search capability would be a huge help in eliminating "Orphans" and in finding to what Project/Album a photo had been mis-assigned.
