Metadata and keywords edit them and system hang
Hi.
Whenever I edit keywords, edit the keyword catalogue or edit IPTC metadata, c1 hangs on Windows.
Does anyone know the problem or perhaps a solution?

Does it recover or does it just become unresponsive for a while?

....
sometimes it comes back when I edit keywords, it gets slower and slower and when c1 reaches 4 - 5 G RAM usage, it hangs and does nothing for hours until I kill the processes.
When I edit IPTC, e.g. copyright for 100 images. It hangs immediately and Windows asks if I want to wait or quit immediately. I had neglected the topic "digital assett management" and thought that C1 is suitable for this. That was probably a mistake. Yesterday's post in the community was a moment of desperation when I was grasping at straws. I couldn't believe that C1, which has been developing raw for me for years without a problem, was failing because of the metadata. Sorry. I'm currently looking at a professional DAM and won't be doing that with C1. That's why we don't need to pursue this any further and look for a solution. I have already opened a support case with C1 which has not been processed for 2 weeks. So it makes no sense to wait for a fix. I have already done a reinstallation etc. anyway.0 -
Here, Capture One always becomes unresponsive when editing keywords (just to be clear: usually not when applying keywords to or removing keywords from images, though this also happens sometimes). It usually only happens the first time, e.g. when I rename a keyword or delete a keyword from the keyword library, subsequent edits are faster, but the first edit usually makes Capture One unresponsive for quite a while, depending on the size of the catalogue. I think this is the usual behaviour for Capture One as its handling of metadata and catalogues is very inefficient. But if it doesn't recover at all after editing keywords something else must be wrong.
Getting support from Capture One usually takes quite a while.

Do you have any metadata or keyword filters enabled when you are applying metadata and keywords? I have experienced severe performance impact when applying metadata or keywords while any filters on them are enabled. This includes while working in a selected smart album. My guess is that the filters are being re-evaluated constantly while the metadata changes are being applied. I reported my observations to Capture One a few times and it has not been resolved.

With editing Keyword Katalog I had sometimes keyword filters active. With metadata I had only selected some files and try to apply e.g. Copyright.
