Adjustments displays differently if applied in Image Layer or Filled layer
Hi, everyone,
I have reported what I thought was a problem six months ago, it was transmitted to development, then nothing. So I thought I would try help from the community.
Problem as follows:
Select a picture you can reset, then duplicate it as a new "empty" variant with F7. Add a filled layer to the second variant.
Now, apply "Exposure -1" to the first picture "image layer" and the same value to the second variant "filled layer". Both variants look the same.
Now apply "Shadow +100" to the first picture "image layer" and the same value to the second variant "filled layer". Both variants look totally different on my screen.
I discovered that problem when C1P added the "Move image l

Sorry, got shut out.
As I said, discovered that problem when C1P added the "move image layer adjustments to new layer" as I wanted to use the feature to try out the new "shortcuts to styles" feature.
Do you get the same results, or am I going mad?
Do you have an explanation I have not seen, have I missed something?
Thanks for your help

Hello just noticed this today myself, was making me feel crazy. I applied a style to a new layer and on a clone applied it to image layer then when I adjusted expose to the same value both images looked completely different. no for anyone asking I didn't mess with any other settings or adjustments by mistake. the weird thing is is if on the image that has the style/preset on the new layer if I go and adjust expose on base layer they look the same. so capture one is doing something weird when it comes to exposure adjustments on new layers. I know the call it smart adjustment technology but the Ai or algorithm for exposure is weird on adjustment layers.

It is a mystery how layer adjustments in C1 work, at least for me.
In this thread, I discovered another surprising example:
