Previewing Styles on variants

Hi, 
I would like to preview a style effect on a variant placed next to the orignal image, side by side.
But when hovering over a style, this is applied/showed to both the original and the variant, why?
It would be helpful to be able to view a style effect on one variant only or at least on the highlighted image and not on the original one or on any other displayed on the main screen for just comparison purposes.

Is it possible or is a bug or what else?

  Have you tried turning off the option to edit all selected variants on the Image menu? (Or there is a toolbar button for it).
