The error message isn't very informative, unfortunately.

Where are you trying to export the original files to? Does Capture One have permissions to write files there? (Does it have full disk access, or at least access to that location in the Files and Folders section of security in MacOS settings)?

    Thanks for your reply, Ian.

I just found out what prevented me from exporting the file. In order to avoid accidentally renaming my image files from within Capture One, I've locked them using the Terminal command sudo chflags schg. Apparently this prevents Capture One from exporting them.

When locking files in macOS's Finder or using chflags uchg, Capture One can still export them, but since version 16.3.6, possibly earlier, Capture One has been able to unlock files that are locked this way, which means that this workaround to prevent accidental renaming of files no longer works. The only thing that can keep Capture One from renaming files is locking them using the sudo chflags schg command.

    That sounds very likely.

@... – I've added it to the ticket I filed about Capture One unlocking locked files.
