Greyed out settings

I purchased Capture One 23 Pro outright (without a yearly lease agreement).  I was trying to merge images for a final HDR image.  The setting to do this is greyed out, as well as several more settings throughout the library .  I would like to know what is causing this.  I prefer to have access to all editing settings if possible.

    What file types? HDR merge only works with raw files.
