Capture One for iPad compatibility to desktop version on perpetual license

With a perpetual license on desktop staying the same, what assurances do I have that I will continue to be able to use/transfer the edited Raw or EIP files with adjustments as the mobile app continues to be updated? Either using cloud transfer or otherwise.

What version is required on desktop for which version of the mobile app? Do I get a warning when a mobile app update requires me to update the desktop version as well. Is there an option to export eip’s with an older version compatibility for example?

I want to know these things before signing up to a subscription paid yearly, when the desktop version appears to be updated after 6 months already. (Currently on 16.3)
