Custom Camera Profiles
Is there a sane way to manage custom camera profiles that doesn't mean the profiles are lost when you upgrade C1Pro?

The camera profile can be selected before or after the images are in capture one so your question doesn’t make sense to me. I document art and every time I make a new custom camera icc profile for the set up, then upgrade C1, I have to move the custom profiles from deep in the old app package to the new one.

Thanks for the response. Yes I’m using a mac. The profiles I’m making are done through an X-Rite app rather than using the colour editor. The instructions here will clarify my current situation https://support.captureone.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002409057-How-do-I-install-and-import-my-own-color-profiles The reminder about the colour editor sourced ICC profiles though means that there may be another way as I’d assume that those profiles would be stored in a user preset directory rather than within the app structure itself. I’ll investigate later on when I’m back at my desktop.

Yep, fingers crossed. Or I continue with the insane system!

Save profiles inside:
/Users/"user name"/Library/ColorSync/Profiles
Capture One will find them automatically. Also my advice is to switch Camera Calibration software with something more sophisticated like BasicColor. Difference in profile quality is staggering.

Thanks Łucasz. I’ve used basiccolor before. I’ll try a side by side comparison of the profiles I have with some art doc I’m doing tomorrow.

Another option is to pack reference photo you used to create ICC(with profile applied) to EIP. This way profile will be embedded into EIP package. You could archive this way all final images as well. Although I prefer not to. I only pack ICC and LCC reference files so profiles won’t get lost.

Thank you. And Yes. These methods of creating profiles are indeed chalk and cheese. Adding the profile to the folder you stated worked too. I wonder why C1 say to place it within the app structure.
