TIFF metadata not embedded after Edit With external editor
When I use an external editor, a TIFF file is created by CO. I have all the metadata boxes checked in the Edit With dialog. I would like CO to embed the metadata in the TIFF file but the TIFF seems to store its metadata in the XMP file which is shared the RAW file. This gives two unwanted side effects.
i) In CO when I change the label or rating on the TIFF file it also changes the label / rating for the RAW file. When I view these files in my external DAM (Adobe Bridge) - the newly applied rating shows up for the RAW file (which it shouldn't) and does not show for the TIFF (which it should).
ii) In my external DAM (which is where I make most metadata changes), when I make a change to the rating / label of the TIFF file, and go back to Capture One, CO does not see the changed values. It continues to show the values from the RAW file. If I later make further changes to the TIFF and export it, it will overwrite the metadata I supplied in the DAM with the values from RAW file's XMP sidecar.
The only CO documentation I can find refers embedding metadata in an Exported TIFF. In this case I am not explicitly exporting the TIFF - it is being created by CO.
How can I keep the TIFF metadata separate from the RAW file's XMP sidecar?
