Is the max number of layers still 16?

FirstName LastName

I am trying to masks and when tried to copy and paste to other images , CO started showing " Maximum number of layers exceeded "  Variants can't have more than 16 . Is  there anyway to increase and of-course I agree there will be performance impact but with latest cores and ram , i don't see this as limitation . 

 

Please help.

    16 layers is the max. No way to increase that.

    I am impressed with features of CO but is there any other way to save those layers  into one and apply to others

    No way to merge layers but you can copy-apply the layers along with all other adjustments.
